Choosing a therapist can feel overwhelming, so I hope to help you with this decision by describing my approach. I believe that the relationship you and I build will form the basis of change. I will work hard to understand you and provide you with helpful feedback that will allow you to find new ways of dealing with challenges. I think significant relationships are central to life.

Our earliest relationships set the stage for how we experience others and how we think others experience us. We will work together to understand how these learned ways of being in the world might have become stultifying. Together we will find new ways for you to develop more meaningful relationships and attain your goals. I will help you challenge preconceived assumptions and expand self-knowledge. This process creates profound opportunities to discover new avenues of living and thriving and to relate to others in much more effective and fulfilling ways.

Over a period of time, you will experience the deep-seated positive changes that emerge as a result of our work together.  Through my relational approach, which is both nurturing and constructive, I’ve seen clients who come in depressed and overwhelmed with important issues such as balancing marital and parenting challenges with professional demands, leave with much more manageable and satisfying lives.

Making the phone call to initiate psychotherapy can be daunting. Simply getting to my office is often more than half the battle. When you call my office you will reach my confidential voicemail, which I check regularly. When you leave a message, please also provide your phone number and some good times to reach you. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have about the process, my fees and how I work. You can give me a brief summary of what’s troubling you, and if you are comfortable we can schedule an initial meeting. Our first few meetings will give you an important sense of what our working relationship might feel like.

If you are unsure about beginning therapy, I suggest that we meet for a few sessions to discuss your worries. Perhaps I can help you understand what is preventing you from starting treatment. You might discover that you feel comfortable with me and that our initial meetings can represent the beginning of a rewarding relationship.

I am currently working remotely using HIPA compliant video based technology and I will do my best to accommodate your schedule.

I am happy that you have discovered my psychotherapy practice! Improving your mental health is just one step away. Please contact me today to set up an initial consultation.
